Phosphate Solubilizing Fungal Biofertilizer (CFU: 1 x 10⁷ Spores / ml)

Phosphorus is abundant in soils in both organic and inorganic forms, but it is unavailable to plants. To circumvent the phosphorous deficiency, phosphate-Solubilizing microorganisms play an important role in making phosphorous available for plants by dissolving insoluble phosphorous. Sun Bio Phosi+ contains Phosphate Solubilizing fungi (PSF) which play a noteworthy role in increasing the bioavailability of soil phosphates for plants. They generally enhance available phosphorus released from soil, which contributes to plants’ P requirement. Sun Bio Phosi+ converts insoluble phosphates into soluble forms through the process of acidification, chelation and exchange reactions.

Mode of Action

SUN BIO PHOSI PLUS applies various approaches to make phosphorus accessible for plants to absorb. These include lowering soil PH, chelation, and mineralization.

The principal mechanism for solubilisation of soil P is lowering of soil pH by microbial production of organic acids. Production of organic acid coupled with the decrease of the pH by the action of microorganisms results in P solubilisation. These organic acids are the products of the microbial metabolism, mostly by oxidative respiration or by fermentation when glucose is used as carbon source.

Organic and inorganic acids produced by SUN BIO PHOSI PLUS dissolve the insoluble soil phosphates by chelation of cations and competing with phosphate for adsorption sites in the soil.

Organic phosphate is transformed into utilizable form by SUN BIO PHOSI PLUS through process of mineralization, and it occurs in soil at the expense of plant and animal remains, which contain a large amount of organic phosphorus compounds.

Seed / planting material Treatment (Per kg):

Mix 10 ml of SUN BIO PHOSI PLUS in cold jaggery solution and apply evenly on seed / planting material surface. Dry treated material in shade before sowing and use on same day.

Seedling Treatment:

Mix 10 ml of SUN BIO PHOSI PLUS in 1 litre of water dip seedling roots for 5 - 10 minutes before transplanting.

Soil Application (Per Acre):

Mix 1 litre of SUN BIO PHOSI PLUS with 50 - 100 kg of well decomposed manure or cake and apply evenly on moist soil.

Drenching:

Mix 5 - 10 ml of SUN BIO PHOSI PLUS in 1 litre of water and apply near root zone by drenching.

Fertigation (Per Acre):

Mix 1 - 2 litre of SUN BIO PHOSI PLUS in water and apply in the root zone through drip system.
